At Climax Change, we talk a lot about the ripple effect. How small, conscious choices in the bedroom can bloom into something much larger. But sometimes, you have to leave the bedroom entirely to see exactly how those ripples turn into waves of real-world change.
Last week, we packed up our cameras and headed to Breda to visit the home base of one of our ecosystem restoration partners: the Branch Foundation.
If you’ve been following our journey, you know that 100% of our profits go toward ecosystem restoration. We aren’t just building a brand; we’re building a funding engine for the projects that are healing our planet. Standing in the Breda facility, watching the corals being fed and cared for with kindness, the connection between our mission and their work felt immediate and profound.
How it all started: a connection in Curaçao
The story of the Branch Foundation is one of those serendipitous “meant-to-be” moments that feels like it’s written in the stars, or maybe, the tides.
We sat down with co-founder Maarten van Aalst, and the conversation quickly drifted to the origins of the foundation. A few years ago, while volunteering for a coral restoration project in Curaçao, Maarten met the other Maarten—Maarten van der Kuijl. It was an instant meeting of minds, two people who saw the fragility of our marine ecosystems and refused to stand by as coral reefs faded away.
That shared passion didn’t just spark a friendship; it sparked the Branch Foundation.
It’s worth noting that Maarten van der Kuijl’s dedication to this cause runs deep. So deep, in fact, that it became the DNA for Climax Change. He founded Climax Change with a clear vision: to create a sustainable, consistent flow of funding for ecosystem restoration initiatives like Branch Foundation and partners like Justdiggit.
The idea is as simple as it is profound: we celebrate pleasure, and together, we fund the change.
Why coral matters (more than you think)
As we watched the corals under the gentle hum of the lab equipment and the bubbly sounds of the simulated ocean water, Maarten explained that this isn’t just about saving “pretty” reefs. It’s about survival.
Coral reefs are the beating heart of our oceans, but they are under immense pressure. When we lose them, we lose more than biodiversity; we lose our natural armor. Healthy coral reefs act as a massive, living shock absorber for the coast. By breaking the power of big waves and buffering the impact of tsunamis, they protect vulnerable coastal communities from disaster.
The work the Branch Foundation is doing is all about scaling this. They’re moving beyond small-scale testing, developing methods to restore coral at a level that can actually halt the current rate of deterioration. It’s scientific, it’s urgent, and it’s undeniably hopeful.
A series of solutions
We spent the day filming, capturing the beauty and intensity of Branch Foundation’s work, the life teeming in the tanks, and the infectious optimism that drives the team. We couldn’t wait to share it.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out a series of videos across our social channels, taking you behind the scenes with the Branch Foundation. You’ll get to see the process, meet the team, and understand exactly how the support you provide by choosing Climax Change is being put to work under the sea.
This is what "conscious" looks like in practice. It’s knowing that every choice you make is connected to a larger web of life.
Whether you’re here for the sexual wellness conversations or the ecosystem restoration, you’re part of this. We’re all connected—from the intimacy we share with our partners to the way we protect the blue planet that sustains us all.

Branch Foundation is here to turn the tide, and we’re so glad you’re here to see it.
